For Independence Day, the northeast was supposed to be sunny but someone called up Arthur and he brought storms instead of hot dogs. The models below show the location of Arthur this afternoon. Left is the GFS, right is from Intellicast but beware, that is mainly accurate for the core of the storm and not the outer bands which can bring rain and thunderstorms at any time in any amount.
While we won't be as much wind to deal with, other than the precip we'll be seeing we'll also have very high surf and waves from northern NJ all the way along the coastline. There are small craft advisories in effect because of this.
Even with the weather, tonight it should clear up and you may be able to get some good fireworks in the sky. If there are any firework shows Saturday night then there won't be anything blocking them.
For now though, enjoy what you can of Independence Day!
