The rain/storm system definitely has slowed down, and is giving the metro area and much of New England the few hours we asked for yesterday. However, it has sent out a few drizzles ahead of it. Good thing that these won't bring much of any rain as far as amount or even duration, in fact you may only see a few drops for a few minutes, possibly up to 5 minutes in CT or MA, but again it's the type of drizzle that you can walk around in and barely pay attention to.

The current heavy rain and thunderstorm-prone batch of moisture (as seen in the adjacent picture) is spread out from Quebec to Toronto, covering Lake Ontario and western New York State from Buffalo to Syracuse. It's tapering a bit south of that main portion but still stretching down towards Pittsburgh and into Kentucky. The large air mass will be hitting the Appalachians soon cooling the air and condensing them into rain and storm clouds for the afternoon. Clouds ahead of this will slowly roll in throughout the day, increasing until the late afternoon and evening when the precip will finally reach us in the Metro area and New England.
So, go out earlier than later so you and enjoy your Father's Day, don't mind the possible sprinkle you may see over the next hour or two, and have a happy Father's Day with your families.
