With no organized systems in the tropics, the Gulf, or the Atlantic, it will be a much less eventful week ahead of us, but we'll still be getting showers and thunderstorms during the week.
While the Northeast is being protected by a large area of high pressure giving us all a sunny and mild day, tonight we'll start to see clouds gradually roll in and by Monday mid-day we'll see a round of showers and possible thunderstorms roll through. These will continue until Tuesday night, with a chance of some late day passing storms on Wednesday and Thursday, but by Friday and Saturday of next week we'll be back to the same sunshine we're seeing today.
As far as the temperatures go, highs for the week ahead will be fairly steady. It will range from around 73-76° for Long Island, 75-80° for the metro area, and anywhere from 73-77° for much of the northeast with some days hitting 80° for an hour or two if the clouds are light enough during the day.
So some early week showers and storms, mid-late week sunshine with a slight chance of a passing shower/storm, and end of the week with full sunshine. Not too bad at all.
