I was born on October 17, 1973.
Having been born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I got
my interest in weather at an early age. Winter in
New York City meant the chance of seeing some great
snowstorms (and getting time off from school). Although
I don’t have any memories of blizzards back
in the 70's, my earliest remembrance was the February
1982 storm. That snowstorm fascinated me bringing
everything to a halt. It gave the city nearly 2
feet of snow with lightning and thunder accompanying
it.
My interest in weather continued
to grow through college. I attended the State University
of New York at Albany majoring in atmospheric science.
Having worked several years outside the weather
field after college, I decided to come back to it.
I began working for Metro Weather
in 1999. Currently I work as an overnight meteorological
technician and weekend manager. Although weather
is my biggest hobby, I also enjoy cycling and traveling.
