The pesky July storm that brought deadly tornadoes, hail and flooding to the Midwest and Ohio Valley last week will continue bringing a major flood threat to the Mid-Atlantic states today into Wednesday.
Up to 9" of rain fell over the weekend in northern Virginia, and another 3-6' could fall in part of northern VA, western MD and east-central PA through Wednesday.
The Northeast will also see locally heavy rain including near NYC and Boston. Rivers and creeks will continue to rise, with the flood threat lessening some by Thursday as the storm system finally weakens and lifts northeastward.

Triple digit heat will affect millions in Texas again today, with slight relief beginning tomorrow. The Southwest and Far West will also heat up again, and heat advisories and warnings extend all the way to Seattle, WA this week.
