Satellite shows departing storm off New England. Next system in Rockies...will bring the first bout of wintry weather there and then reach East Coast late weekend. Weather map for this evening clearly shows wintry weather for Rockies. That storm heads east and by Monday on next week...below...are the daytime high temperatures. Below...2 longer range models with their version of what the weather could be for Thanksgiving Day. Canadian...first - not showing much. 2nd map - GFS - big storm for East. Which will be right ? Right now...I would bet on GFS....we'll see. Be safe.

It shows the NW storm along the Mid At. Coast......and the following map shows temperatures plunging behind this system. As always - be safe. Rain over The Carolinas will head north to affect the East Coast over the next 24-36 hours. System in the Northwest will evolve into a major storm this week as it track slowly east - not reaching East Coast until late weekend. Map for today ...showing two main areas of wetness...Carolinas and Pac. NW. Below....various models projecting storm now in the NW....arriving in the East for this Sunday. The blue indicated...mean wintry precip...like snow. Sunday's storm in the East could set the stage for a chilly Thanksgiving. For now...be safe.
A cold front moving down from Canada across Northeast and Great Lakes will bring a quick shot of colder air for a day or two then quickly milding up. Wet weather for Texas Coast and Pacific NW. Weather map shows high pressure controlling the weather for much of the weekend. Exception...Pacific NW into No. Rockies.

Satellite clearly shows the jet stream: starts out along West Coast and goes up into Canada...then comes down across The Great Lakes and back up over The Eastern Seaboard. This will bring cooler air to Northeast...but warm conditions in the Plains. Above - Today's map showing cold front moving toward East Coast with showers. Some rain moves across Great Lakes today...and in Mississippi Valley and Texas....otherwise a quiet election day. Map below shows where it may rain today...and into tonight.....just look for the green areas. Map below shows where any snow may have fallen. Look closely...one spot on Colorado..other on the top of Mt. Washington - NH.....where less than .10" was measured. Below....map for this Saturday.....followed by projected high temperatures. Front in Plains will head east and cause some showers in the East mid week.....while wet weather continues in the Northwest. Today's map shows the wet weather from Central Plain to Texas and in the Northwest. This map will change little for Election Day. Below....you will see the upper air maps for Wednesday ...then Saturday. Not much change with the coolest weather for the East Coast and the warmest weather for the Plains. Below....high temperatures expected for this Saturday. A real chill for the East. Be safe.

Satellite shows front moving toward East Coast. Deep trof in Southwest...and Canadian West Coast. Should mean dry for most of the Nation with exception of Southwest due to that trof. Map for this evening shows moisture pooling in the Southwest and this will be an ongoing problem into weekend. Fronts in East will move south and east offshore. Rainfall map for the next week shows the South getting hit with more and more rain....as the Pacific Northwest. Upper air pattern above for next week indicates warmer than normal for much of the Nation with the exception of the Northeast and Southwest. This is the sign of a pattern change.
Be safe. Weather map shows cold front moving east with a band of rain from the Northeast to Texas....most of which light. Rain and wind for the Pacific Northwest. This pattern not changing much into weekend with fronts moving south. Hurricane center watch an area east of Windward Islands. It has a 20% chance of developing into a tropical disturbance...otherwise quiet. Be safe.

Weather map shows milder air for The East....but cold front in Plains will sharpen and bring windy - chilly weather to East by end of week.
