Next cold front zipping across the Upper Midwest will head for the East late Thursday into Friday with rain changing to some snow before ending. Weekend starts cold..but another storm scooting down the Rockies will be a major player in SuperBowl weekend from west to east. Below - expected snowfall and rainfall for the next 5 days. Below - Thursday's high temperatures....followed by animated maps for the next 2 days. Won't spend alot of time on this now but superbowl weekend weather is anything but solid. Storm will definitely form in Gulf States...and track up the East Coast Sunday night into Monday. The track of the storm way out in left field by all models...nothing new. GFS wants to give us some snow..Canadian..less.....Euro - Rain. So far this winter the models have been anything but good...not even fair with storm prediction. A front stalled off East Coast will produce rain with a chance of wet snow on the northern edge from Mid Atlantic to New England into Tuesday...but amounts..if any - will be quite light. Snowshowers in Lakes and Ohio Valley ...new system in the Pacific Northwest. That one could be a troublemaker in the East by late week...more on that later this week. Moisture over The Gulf heads north and east bringing some rain to East on Sunday. Most significant rain - southeastern state including Fla. Winter storm moving through Great Lakes spinning rain and thunderstorms across Appalachians and to the East today. After that..it will calm down until the next front in Pacific makes it's way across the country...not reaching the East Coast until Sunday/Monday. Early a.m. satellite reveals intensity of storm just east of Cape Hateras N.C. It's moving northeast as a classic nor'easter and will bring blizzard conditions from Long Island to New England with over 1 ft of snow accompanied by winds in excess of 50 mph.
